KIRSTIE Alley isn’t hitting the dance floor!

Reports earlier this week claimed the actress would be among the contestants taking part on the new season of the hit US TV show Dancing With The Stars. But Alley has spoken out to set the record straight.

“Just a rumor,” she wrote on her Twitter page. “Imagine that. NOT doing DWTS this season… Way too chicken!! Maybe next season if Im invited again!!!” The 11th season of the hit show will premiere on September 20. Other stars rumored to be competing on the hit ballroom series include David Hasselhoff, Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Bristol Palin and The Hills alum Audrina Patridge. Singer Brandy also is in “serious discussions,” a source said, and crooner Michael Bolton’s “management company have been in talks with the show for over a month,” said another insider.

“They’re all very excited about it, especially Michael.”

“We don’t comment on casting rumors. The real Dancing With the Stars cast will be revealed Monday, Aug. 30, live on ABC during Bachelor Pad,” said an ABC rep. Dancing With Stars‘ previous contestants include Kate Gosselin, Shawn Johnson, Jake Pavelka, Pamela Anderson, Kelly Osbourne and Lance Bass among many others.
